The Salvers stand on three panel feet, which have a reeded border. The stepped raised rim is also decorated with an applied reeded band and the centre is engraved with a contemporary Armorial, with banner below, engraved with a Motto, and Crest above. The Salvers are in excellent condition, have crisp marks and are of an exceptional weight. The Arms, Motto and Crest are those of Llewellyn of Peterstone-Ely-Coedrigan and Stockland, both co. Glamorgan, quartering Turbeville, of Coty Castle, Ewenny Anney and Llantwit Manor, all co. Glamorgan. Burke gives the exact quarterings, Crest and Motto as those of Edward Turbeville Llewellyn Esq. Both families were of great importance in the county, particularly the Turbevilles.
Diameter: 9 inches, 22.5cm
Weight: 34oz the pair.
