The Sifter Spoons are palely gilded and have fluted bowls pierced with flower heads and foliate stems. The cast stems are decorated with Bacchanalian pattern depicting Bacchus, vines and fruit, reclining nude figures and wild wolves. The decoration is in particularly crisp condition. This is a rare Regency pattern designed by Stothard for Rundell, Bridge & Rundell, the earliest pieces dating from 1812 in the Royal Collection. Most pieces are by Paul Storr & his successors.
