A very fine pair of Corinthian Column Cast Candlesticks made in London in 1766 by Thomas Whipham I

The Candlesticks are cast and have a stepped base decorated with gadrooning. The main shaft and pierced capital is modelled on the Corinthian order of column and the square pull-off nozzles have a gadrooned rim. Each piece is fully marked on the base and with the makers mark and sterling mark on the nozzles. The base is also engraved with the original scratch weight
