The Caddy Spoon was made most probably in London circa 1820 and has an unusually shaped circular bowl and fretted handle decorated with lobes and cascading scrolls. Most unusually, however, is that the reverse is also engraved to simulate a shell bowl and foliate designs are shown on the handle. Mother of Pearl Caddy Spoons are particularly rare and this is the first time we have seen this specific design. Similar spoons are illustrated in Norie Plate 108.
