A very rare George III Combination Snuff Box/Vinaigrette made in Birmingham in 1816 by Joseph Willmore.

£1,950

The Snuff Box is modelled in a curved rectangular form and is decorated all over with reeded bands.  The top also displays a rectangular cartouche engraved with a set of contemporary script initials.  The cover of the snuff compartment opens up to reveal exceptional interior gilding.  The right hand side also has a hinged section which, once opened, reveals the vinaigrette with grille pierced and engraved with a floral spray within a bright cut frame.  The box is very well marked on the bezel and on the underside of the grille, which has been finished and polished in typical Willmore fashion.  Combination snuff boxes/vinaigrettes are particularly rare and this is one of only a handful we have offered over all of the years.
