A very fine early George III mUSTARD pOT MADE IN lONDON IN 1767 BY Samuel Herbert & Company

The Mustard Pot is modelled in the "Drum" form and the sides are profusely pierced with quartrefoil motifs, enclosed by a reeded frame. The flat hinged cover also has a reeded rim and is engraved with a set of contemporary script initials, enclosed by a stylised crossed branch cartouche. This piece has a scroll handle, decorated with ribbing, and a cast "Onslow" scroll handle. This example is in excellent condition and is fully marked on the foot and with the sterling mark on the underside of the cover.
