The Dish is rectangular in form and has a raised rim which is decorated with a beaded band. This piece has two heart shaped beaded carrying handles, which are decorated with a single flower head. The centre of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest and the reverse displays a crisp set of hallmarks.
This type of dish is extremely rare. They are termed bacon dishes, however some believe that they may have been used for asparagus. Whatever their name, they could be used for a variety of things on the dining table, including canapes and petit fours etc.
