The Salt Cellars are circular in form and stand on an applied spreading foot, decorated with reeding. The baluster sides are decorated with wide lobing and the plain interiors are palely gilded. All pieces are in excellent condition and are fully marked on the base and, unusually, with the King's Head Duty Mark and Hibernia in the bowl. This is a most unusual design which was produced in Dublin and which was influenced by late seventeenth century designs. Christopher Haines was a fine silversmith, who was working from premises at 28, Capel Street, Dublin, when these Salt Cellars were made.
Height: 1.45 inches, 3.63 cm.
