The Sauceboats stand on an oval cast pedestal foot decorated with gadrooning. The elongated baluster main body also displays a gadrooned rim and the front is engraved with a contemporary Crest issuing from a Ducal Coronet. Each has a reeded loop handle and is well marked in the foot. The Crest is, in heraldic terms, a martlet issuing from a Ducal Coronet. The Crest is that as used by Richard Nugent Temple Greville, Duke of Buckingham & Chandos. Both Sauceboats are in excellent condition and are of the finest quality, as one would expect from these Royal makers who enjoyed the Patronage of George III and his son, The Prince of Wales, later George IV.
