These exceptional Skewers are modelled in the unusual "Needle" form and have circular rings at the end. Both are also engraved with a contemporary Crest. They are in excellent condition, are very well marked and are of an exceptional gauge of silver. The Needle form is not often seen, especially in this size and of this gauge. It is thought that Charles Kandler II was presumably the son or grandson of the great Frederick Kandler. This would account for the outstanding quality of these pieces. His mark was entered on 12th November, 1778 and he occupied workshops at 100 Jermyn Street, when these skewers were made.
Length: 13 inches, 32.5 cm.
Weight: 8.2 oz, the pair.
