The Salt Cellars are of a large circular form and stand on three shell and scroll feet, which are attached to the main body with China man mask mouldings. The sides are beautifully decorated with detailed Chinoiserie scenes. One side displays a vacant cartouche surrounded by scrolls and floral motifs. The everted rim is also decorated with trailing foliage interspersed with flower heads. Each piece is in excellent condition and has an originally gilded interior. The underside of the main body, on both pieces, displays a crisp set of marks.
