A rare George III "Urn" Mustard Pot made in London in 1781 by Robert Hennell.

The Mustard Pot is unusually modelled as a Neo-Classical Urn and stands on a circular pedestal foot decorated with beading and prick dot designs. The vase shaped main body is pierced with two bands of bluebell drop motifs and Neo-Classical urns in ovals. The rim displays an applied band of beading and the sides are also engraved with floral garlands. The high domed cover terminates in a ball finial and is decorated with an outer bright cut band. This example has a blue glass liner and S scroll handle. The Pot is in excellent condition and is engraved with a contemporary initial on the cover. The foot is fully marked and this piece comes with an Old English pattern Mustard Spoon made in London in 1790 by Stephen Adams.
