The basket stands on an oval stepped foot. The boat shaped main body has a reeded rim and is engraved with an upper band of flower heads and scroll work on a scratch engraved ground. Both the front and the reverse is engraved with a set of contemporary initials surrounded by a crossed branch cartouche. This piece has a most unusual arched handle, the design of which we had not previously seen.
