An extremely rare George III Filigree Needle Case, modelled as a book. English and made circa 1790/1800.

This beautiful case is modelled as a book with divided spine and two filigree fastening clasps and was used to carry needles in.  It also contains its original felt, braid lined, leaves for pinning the needles to.  These are also bound as a book. The centre of the front and the back displays a central raised shaped oval panel decorated with roundels.  This piece is in quite excellent condition and the quality of the filigree modelling is exceptional.
