The Snuff Box is broad rectangular in form and the cover is inset with an unusual agate panel, most probably of Scottish origin. The sides display two cast floral bands in between a section of engraved feathery scrolls and prick dot bands. The base is also engraved with scroll work and floral sprays of the finest quality, enclosed by an engraved beaded frame. The centre of the base displays a vacant shield shaped cartouche and the interior is well marked and finely gilded.
