The Nutmeg Grater is oval in form and is engraved, on the cover, with Neo Classical floral garlands and roundels around a cut cornered cartouche, containing contemporary script initials. The sides are engraved with an eclectic mix of bright cut and prick dot bands and the base is beautifully engraved with prick dot sunburst designs around a central flower head, as well as floral bands. The engraving is of the finest quality, as would be expected from these fine box makers. The interior is very well marked and the hinges perfectly concealed on the bottom opening.
