The Salt Cellars stand on a square pedestal foot which rises to a boat shaped body, with reeded rim.  The front of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest.  Each piece has two reeded loop handles, with an unusual oval beaded moulding at the top.  The interiors are finely gilded and each piece is very well marked in the foot.  Work by Peter Podio is scarce, and is always of the finest quality.  It would appear that the beaded moulding on the handles were peculiar to the workshops of Podio and is also seen on sauce tureens and jugs.

Length: 5.5 inches, 13.75 cm.

Width: 2.25 inches, 5.63 cm.

Height, to the top of the handles: 3 inches, 7.5 cm.

Weight: 20oz, the pair.
