The Tankard stands on a domed circular foot decorated with reeding. The baluster shaped body has an everted rim and applied girdle around the lower section. The stepped domed cover is also decorated with reeded bands and the scroll handle terminates in a heart shaped end, and is attached to the cover with a cast chair back thumb piece. The handle is also decorated with a shaped double drop and is engraved with contemporary initials. The Tankard is of a very good weight and gauge and is fully marked in the foot. The top of the cover is marked with the sterling mark and the handle bears a crisp makers mark. This example is in excellent condition and has a very good colour.
