The casters are modelled in two sizes and each stands on a circular pedestal foot decorated with beading and prick dot designs.  The foot rises to a Classical vase shaped body which displays two horizontal beaded girdles, as well as eclectic bright cut and prick dot designs.  The incuse neck rises to a reeded rim and this section is also similarly decorated with bright cutting.  The stepped, high domed, covers are all differently pierced and are decorated with a lower beaded band and each terminates in an acorn finial,  in sizes.  The large central caster was for sugar and is pierced with flowing scrolls and vertical pails, to allow more out.  The other casters are each being pierced with smaller plain roundels, this allowing less of the contents to be released, as they would contain hot pepper and spices.

The Casters are in outstanding condition and each is fully marked in the foot and with the maker's mark on the inner sleeve.  The quality can be seen in their good large size and weight.  The amount of silver used for this date is not typical, this being shown with the unnecessarily large cover sleeves.  The feet show the original hammer marks from when they were originally raised, and fashioned, which is always a nice thing to see and shows quality of manufacture.    Thomas Daniel made Cruets and pierced items and is considered a fine maker of such pieces.  He had workshops at 20, Foster Lane when this fine set were made.
