This extraordinary piece stands on a circular spreading foot and has a baluster shaped body which has an astonishing twenty four sides.  This must have been made by an extremely accomplished silversmith, however we know that William Eaton was known for his innovative designs in his workshops.  The cast "Swan Neck" spout is decorated with fluting and leaf capping on the upper section.  The rim displays a gadrooned band and the stepped, domed, cover also has twenty four sides. The cover rises to, and terminates in, a turned fruitwood finial.  The fruitwood handle is attached to the main body with plain silver mouldings and the front of the main body is engraved with an unusual contemporary Crest.  This piece is in quite excellent condition and is fully marked in the foot and with the date letter and sterling mark on the underside of the cover.  As we have intimated, William Eaton was a silversmith who employed innovative designs.  He was prolific in his output, from workshops at 30, Addler Street, London.  A very unusual piece in excellent condition.
