A very rare & unusual cast Caddy Spoon made in London in 1853 by Edward Pairpoint.

£1,550

This piece has a large oval bowl which is gilded and beautifully decorated with oak leaves and acorns, the decoration being very crisp.  The handle is modelled as a sprig from a branch, with textured leaves attached.  The spoon is very well marked on the reverse and is in excellent condition.  This piece is of an excellent weight, being cast.  They were the finest available and very few were made.  This is the first time we have seen this design and spoons by Edward Pairpoint, do not crop up very often at all.

Length: 3.45 inches, 8.63 cm.

Width of the bowl: 2.5 inches, 6.25 cm.
