The Wine Coaster is circular in form with a swirling ropework base and rim. The sides are most unusually pierced with the Chinese designs used by Thomas Chippendale on his furniture, particularly chair backs. The front displays a contemporary Crest engraved on a cut cornered cartouche. The Coaster has a fruitwood base, is very well marked in the piercing and is in excellent condition. Thomas Nash was a specialist pierced worker who made exceptional wine coasters in his workshops. This is the first Chinese Chippendale Wine Coaster which we have offered over the years.
