A very fine, and unusual, George IV silver gilt Snuff Box made in London in 1826 by Francis Clark.

The Snuff Box is silver gilt and modelled in a smaller size, most probably for the use of a Lady. The base and cover display an outer cast frame decorated with sea shells and flower heads, around an engine turned panel. The cover also displays a central rectangular cartouche engraved with the name "Jas Michael" in contemporary script. The sides are decorated with reeding and also, unusually, display a central horizontal band of shells, scroll and flower heads. The box is in quite excellent condition and displays fine interior gilding and crisp hallmarks. The box is of a very good weight.
