The Candlesticks are of a very unusual small size and were probably for use on a dressing chest or table in the bedroom. The bases are oval in form and are decorated with reeding, bold beads and a band of acanthus spears. The main shaft and socket display flat fluted decoration and both have a reeded detachable nozzle. The bases are both loaded with mahogany and each is fully marked on the base and the nozzle.
