This rare label is finely modelled, in heraldic terms, as a demi winged dragon/wyvern. This was the Crest for a number of families, the most notable are the Babington family. The label displays a rectangular banner below with rope twist border, engraved for MADEIRA. The label is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked on the reverse. John Edward Terrey was a superior silversmith, working in the circle of Paul Storr.
Length: 1.9 inches, 4.75 cm.
