A rare George III Tea/Coffee Urn made in Dublin circa 1780 by Michael Homer.

The Urn has a square pedestal foot which is decorated with beading and which is engraved with bright cut bands and floral and foliate designs. The foot stands on four circular ball feet. The vase shaped main body is also decorated with two beaded bands and is engraved with floral and foliate garlands, as well as an upper frieze of bright cutting. The front of the main body is engraved with a navette shaped cartouche, with ribbons above, which contains a contemporary Crest issuing from a Ducal Coronet. The shaped pull off cover terminates in a Classical urn finial and displays a double row of beading. The loop handles are attached to the main body with acanthus spear mouldings and also displays beaded bands. The cast tap is decorated with flower head medallions and herring bone panels.
