This pretty box is modelled in the unusual cartouche form.  The cover and base display a sunburst central panel, surrounded by an outer border of trailing foliage centred by a single flower head.  The centre of the cover displays an oval bright cut cartouche engraved with a set of contemporary script initials.  The incuse sides are decorated with prick dot bands.  The interior displays very fine gilding and a grille pierced and engraved with pluming foliate scrolls and flower heads.  The interior is well marked and also displays marks on the underside of the grille, as is often seen on vinaigrettes by Joseph Willmore.
