This vase shaped basket stands on a circular domed foot pierced with twisted rope work designs. Both the foot, rim and swing handle are decorated with beading. The vase shaped main body is unusually pierced with horizontal and vertical pails and roundels. The sides are also pierced and engraved with twisted rope work designs and herring bone garlands. The front is engraved with a contemporary Crest, in an oval cartouche. The Basket is fully marked in the foot and displays a blue glass liner. This is the first time we have seen this specific design by the specialist basket maker, Burrage Davenport.



Height, to the rim: 4 inches, 10cm.

Diameter at the rim: 3.25 inches, 8.13cm
