120719
The Serving Platter is oval in form with a shaped stepped rim decorated with gadrooning. The border is also engraved with a shield shaped Armorial. The Arms are those of Buckworth, with an inescutcheon of pretense for an heiress, which are those of Monnoux, Baronets of Wotton, Co. Bedford, specifically for Colonel Buckworth and his wife Mary, nee Monnoux. She inherited the Wotton estates on the death of her kinsman Sir Philip, 7th and last baronet, in 1814. The work of Fogelberg and Gilbert is nearly always of the finest quality, as Andrew Fogelberg was the master of the great Paul Storr.
