This very rare example has a marrow scoop shaped stem and typical wide bowl, for this early period. The reverse of the stem is decorated with a reeded rat tail and the top of the scoop is engraved with a double set of contemporary script initials. The Spoon displays a very good makers, illustrated on page 389 of Jackson. It is believed that this is the earliest know marrow spoon from Chester.
