The Beaker is perfectly modelled as a miniature of the full size Drinking Beakers which were popular in England at this date. This example has a stepped reeded base and the tapering main body rises to an everted rim. The lower section of the main body is engraved with a band of scratch engraved arrow heads. The base displays an engraved set of initials and the stamped makers mark. Most toys and miniatures were made in England by David Clayton at the beginning of the Eighteenth century, therefore to find one being made during the seventeenth century is extremely rare indeed. This piece is in excellent condition and has a very fine colour. A very rare example.
