Although this spoon is unmarked, as they nearly always are,it was most probably made in Birmingham by the specialist filigree worker, Samuel Pemberton. The dome of the cap consists of basket weave design and displays a plain circular disc at the top, engraved with a set of contemporary initials. The peak of the cap is beautifully decorated with crescents containing filigree scroll work. The Spoon is in quite excellent condition and a similar example is shown in Caddy Spoon by John Norie, Plate 96, figure C.
