The Mustard Pot is of the "Drum" form with a spreading reeded base and a beaded rim. The sides are pierced with two bands of linked scrolls containing stylised flower heads, separated by plain horizontal frames. The slightly domed cover has a reeded edge and this piece has a cast "Chair back" thumb piece. The scroll handle is decorated with leaf capping and this piece has a blue glass liner. The Mustard Pot is in quite excellent condition, is fully marked on the base and with the sterling mark on the cover.
As you will appreciate, this is a scarce design which is not seen very often. We have only had one other example over all of the years. Due to its rarity it was contained within the famous "Coleman" collection of Mustard Pots and is illustrated on page 25 of the catalogue.
Height, to the rim: 2.1 inches, 5.25 cm.
Base Diameter: 2.5 inches, 6.25 cm.
