The Mustard Pot has an unusual broad rectangular form, with incuse corners. The sides are engraved with an upper and lower frieze of ovals and flower heads on a scratch engraved ground. The centre of each side is also decorated with a vacant circular cartouche, surrounded by stylised drapery mantling. The stylised pagoda top, terminates in a stylised urn finial. The reeded scroll handle is attached to the cover with an unusual cast tri-furcated thumb piece. This example is in excellent condition and has a star cut blue glass liner. The base displays a full set of crisp hallmarks and the cover with a sterling mark. A very rare design.
