The Inkstand has four claw and ball feet and an oval stand with beaded edge and carrying handle. The two circular cages are decorated with pierced vertical pails and beading and this example displays two tubular containers for quills and a circular dish for wafers. The silver mounted bottles are finely pierced and display beaded borders. These small inkstands were most probably for a Ladys desk and examples are very rare.
