A very fine George III Serving Slice made in London 1775 by Charles Aldridge & Henry Green.

The Serving Slice has a long oval blade with central panel which is pierced and engraved with two detailed fishes, in sizes, surrounded by pluming scrolls. The panel is engraved on both sides, such is the quality of production. The handle displays a bold beaded border and raying shell on both sides. This piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the blade and with the maker's mark on the handle. The blade is made of a good thick gauge of silver. Aldridge and Green were fine pierced workers, a partnership which made excellent serving slices, as seen with this example.
