The Teapot is of the shaped oval form with a domed cover terminating in a silver mounted pineapple finial. This piece has a straight spout and fruitwood handle. The shaped stand has four panel feet and both pieces are fully marked. The Teapot and stand display most beautiful bright cut decoration containing floral and foliate motifs. Both pieces are engraved with a contemporary Armorial and Crest surrounded by a cartouche of scroll and drapery mantling which was popular during the 1790s. The Arms and Crest are those of the Glege family of Co. Chester and Gee of Rothly, Co. Leicestershire, Co. Yorks, Manchester and London. The Teapot and stand are in excellent condition and the engraving is particularly crisp.
