A fine George III Neo-Classical Cream Pail made in London in 1774 by Charles Aldridge & Henry Green.

The Pail stands on a pedestal foot with beaded rim which is pierced with Neo-Gothic designs. The main body has a beaded rim and is pierced with arch work and entwined ovals. The lower section is decorated with acanthus spears and the upper section with blue bell garlands interspersed with Neo-Classical medallions. The pail has a twisted ropework handle and the front shows a shield shaped cartouche engraved with a contemporary Crest.
Height, to the top of the handle: 4.5 inches, 11.25cm.
Diameter at the rim: 3 inches, 7.5cm.
