The central section is tubular in form and is scratch engraved with arrow head designs, which divide it into panels. The tubular rasp is, unusually, made of silver and fits into the central tube which is held in place by a cap on the end which is engraved with a stylised flower head motif. The other end unusually has a small compartment, which was probably used to store the nutmeg. This end also has a removable cover which is engraved with a tulip motif. This piece is in excellecnt condition and is clearly marked with TK, for Thomas Kedder, on both the main body and rasp. The exterior has a fine colour. This is one of the earliest forms of Nutmeg Grater which are found and examples seldom appear on the market place.
