The Wine Label is of the die stamped variety and is modelled in the Bacchus and Banner design, displaying two bacchus figures with wine flasks and goblets at each end, surrounded by fruiting vines. The banner is engraved with Mr Hendrie, with scrolls and satyr mask below. The label is in excellent condition and is very well marked. This is a particularly rare example and this particular label is illustrated on page 185 of Wine Labels 1730-2003, A Worldwide History. It is not known who this title pertains to, however it may have been a special drink which a Mr Hendrie, made, retailed or even drank.
