This outstanding heavy die stamped wine label is modelled in a large escutcheon design with pierced border decorated with gadrooning, Rococo shells, scrolls, acanthus foliage and fruiting vines. The face is engraved with MADEIRA and the label is in excellent condition. This was a design which was made in the workshops of Joseph Angel, a maker of very fine quality pieces, however examples seldom appear on the market.
