This very rare piece is of the finest quality and stands on a stepped pedestal foot decorated with acanthus spears. The baluster shaped body, rises to an everted rim decorated with gadrooning and is beautifully chased with finely detailed fruit, floral sprays, scrolls and foliate motifs, all on a matted ground. Both the front and reverse displays a Rococo shell and scroll cartouche engraved with two different contemporary Crests. The interior displays its original gilding and the bowl is fully marked in the foot. This piece is very well marked in the foot and is in excellent condition. Slop bowls from Scotland are extremely rare and this is a quite exceptional example.
