The label has an unusual shaped rectangular form. The gadroon and linear border is also engraved with trailing foliate motifs. The label also displays two Classical roundels in the top right and left hand corners. Most unusually, Hester Bateman has applied a narrow rectangular banner to the face, so that the name stands out. This is a most unusual feature and the label is engraved for RUM. The reverse is marked with the makers mark and sterling mark.
