This exceptional Gold mounted bloodstone snuff box has rounded corners, waisted sides and incuse corners. The cover and sides are overlaid with gold cage work with scrolling rocaille floral sprays, reeded borders and applied scrolling foliage. This exceptional box has an unusual mask thumb piece, flanked by scrolls, on a sable ground. This box is in excellent, crisp, condition.
