This fine Table Snuff Box is silver gilt and is of a broad rectangular form. The cover, sides and base are decorated with engine turned designs and the cover is most unusually set, in the centre, with a slightly domed beautifully shaded agate, with cut corners surrounded by a cast shell, scroll and foliate frame. The box also has a protruding thumb piece which is also decorated in a similar manner to the frame around the agate. The box is very well marked inside and is of the exceptional quality that Charles Rawlings was famous for.
