The Spoon pictured is an exceptionally rare George IV Eagle's Wing Caddy Spoon which was made in Birmingahm in 1825 by Joseph Willmore. As you will appreciate, the Eagle's Wing is considered to be the most important and desired of all spoons. This example is die stamped and the bowl is chased with finely detailed feathers. The handle is chased to simulate the head and beak of the eagle. The spoon is in excellent condition and is fully marked amongst the feathers. Idemtical examples are shown in "Investing in Silver" by Eric Delieb, in addition to Plate 92 and the front cover of "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie. These spoons seldom come onto the market, the last one we had being three years ago.
