This rare spoon displays a sideways oval bowl with raised rim decorated with wrigglework bands.  The bowl also displays a simulated filigree panel, surrounded by lobes and scrolls.  The beautiful bifurcated handle is decorated with prick dot bands and stylised flower heads.  The heart shaped cartouche is engraved with the contemporary initial "B". The spoon is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked on the back of the stem.  Due to its rarity an identical example, of the same date and made by the same makers, is illustrated in "Investing in Silver" by Eric Delieb, page 36.

Length: 2.45 inches.

Width of the bowl: 1.65 inches.
