The Cruet is modelled in the boat shaped form and the oval platform stands on four cast feet, which are unusually decorated with a scroll end and bat wing fluting. The platform rises to a raised border, decorated with reeding, and each end terminates in an "Onslow" scroll and bat wing fluted panel, which would also have been used to carry the cruet. The bottle cages are decorated with reeding and the legs also display the same fluting, as seen on the feet. The cages are attached to the platform with silver bolts. The unusual rectangular central handle has incuse corners and is, again, decorated with Classical bat wing designs. The two cut glass bottles have a shaped foot to simulate a flower head and the sides are decorated with diamond point cutting. Each bottle has a plain, hinged, sparrow beak pouring spout and a high looped handle decorated with reeding. The Cruet frame, and bottles, are in most excellent condition and are marked in no less than eight different places, on the base, two sets on the frame and on the bottle mounts and the cover. This piece is modelled in the restrained Classical manner, which Daniel Pontifex was famous for.
