A very rare George III Muffin Dish & Cover made in London in 1807 by Robert Garrard.

The Dish has a deep circular stepped bowl, with raised reeded edge. The high domed cover also has a reeded base and terminates in a stylised, baluster, urn finial. The front of the cover is engraved with a contemporary sheild shaped Armorial surrounded by a scroll surround. The reverse of the cover and the rim of the base is also engraved with a contemporary Crest. The Arms and Crest are those as used by the Daniel family. Both the base and cover are well marked and this piece is in quite excellent condition. Muffin Dishes are very rare and this example is desirable as it was made by Robert Garrard who was to be elevated to the status of Royal Silversmith and, later, Crown Jeweller by Queen Victoria. This is a perfect piece, in excellent condition
