The Taperstick stands on a square base which is decorated with gadrooning.  The central shaped shaft is baluster in form and displays an attractive section of swirl fluting at the base, as well as gadrooning and fluting up to the socket section. The detachable square nozzle displays the same swirl fluting shown at the base of the shaft and both the base and nozzle are engraved with the same contemporary Crest.  The underside displays a very crisp set of hallmarks.  The Taperstick is in excellent condition and is of a very good weight.  Ebenezer Coker was a specialist candlestick maker, who was working in Clerkenwell Close, when this taperstick was made.
